Anna Drescher

Anna Drescher (*1983) studied Kulturwissenschaften und ästhetische Praxis at Hildesheim University. During her studies she was engaged repeatedly as Assistant Director at the Staatsoper Stuttgart. From 2010-2013 she was Assistant Director at the Schauspiel Stuttgart. From 2013-2015 she was awarded the stipend for directing from the Akademie Musiktheater heute of the Deutsche Bank Stiftung.


During her academic training Anna Drescher directed the theater group "hArt times" (theater work with people with psychiatric issues), staging "Hamlet goes hArt times" at the Hannoversche Kammerspiele in 2008. For her Diploma project "Gladbeck. Ein MassenMedienMassaker" she focused on the Gladbeck hostage crisis. In 2010 she received an invitation from the Staatsphilharmonie Ludwigshafen to present her staging of "Zoo", an interactive musical theater production for children.


At the Staatstheater Stuttgart, Anna staged several reading performances and directed the production "Blaubart - Hoffnung der Frauen". In 2013 she directed "Tauffest für Georg Daniel Speer" at the Ludwigsburger Schlossfestspiele, in 2015 "Die Prinzessin von Trapezunt" by Offenbach at the Osterfestspiele Baden-Baden and a staged performance of cantatas by J.S. Bach at the Ansbacher Bachwochen.
